Michelin, GM Take the Air Out of Tires for Passenger Vehicles

Michelin and General Motors presented a new generation of airless wheel technology, the MICHELIN Uptis Prototype (or “Unique Puncture-proof Tire System”), at the Movin’On Summit for sustainable mobility today. GM intends to develop this airless wheel assembly with Michelin and aims to introduce it on passenger vehicles as early as 2024.

Chevrolet’s Industry-First Buckle to Drive Feature Reminds Teen Drivers to Buckle Up

Chevrolet Canada has introduced an industry-first Buckle to Drive feature that can help remind young drivers to buckle up before driving. Buckle to Drive is standard in the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, and when active can prevent the driver from shifting the vehicle out of park if the driver’s seat belt is not buckled. Buckle to Drive is only available through the vehicle’s Teen Driver mode and builds upon Chevrolet’s Teen Driver system, introduced in 2015, as another step to help teen drivers stay safe on the road.

Chevrolet Simplifies the Check-in with Vehicle Locate

The myChevrolet mobile app recently received a new feature that will help ease loved ones’ worries and make the process of checking-in more convenient. The feature is called Vehicle Locate[1] and it allows Chevy owners to send automated text alerts to friends and family when their connected vehicle enters or leaves a designated boundary area, or arrives at or departs from an address. Owners can also use the feature to pinpoint the location of their connected vehicle at any given time.
