$28 Million Cogeneration Investment at General Motors St. Catharines Plant Lowers GHG Emissions and Reduces Energy Costs


Today, General Motors Canada and partners announced the completion of a $28 million cogeneration investment at the GM St. Catharines Propulsion plant that will enhance the operation’s competitiveness by lowering greenhouse gas emissions and reducing future energy costs. The cogeneration program is expected to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 70 per cent while protecting the engine and transmission plant from rising electricity and carbon costs.

Today, GM Canada’s Oshawa Operations welcomed the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry and the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Public Services and Procurement to help celebrate the one millionth mask produced out of the Canadian Mask Making (CMM) room for the Government of Canada. This is the first millionth milestone in the journey to 10 million masks.
