General Motors of Canada and Chevrolet are donating for auction the last 7th generation Corvette and the first 8th generation all-new, mid-engine Corvette Stingray built for the Canadian market to the Durham Children’s Aid Foundation in support of ‘Sharon’s Kids,’ which was founded by Sharon Clark in 1968.

$28 Million Cogeneration Investment at General Motors St. Catharines Plant Lowers GHG Emissions and Reduces Energy Costs


Today, General Motors Canada and partners announced the completion of a $28 million cogeneration investment at the GM St. Catharines Propulsion plant that will enhance the operation’s competitiveness by lowering greenhouse gas emissions and reducing future energy costs. The cogeneration program is expected to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 70 per cent while protecting the engine and transmission plant from rising electricity and carbon costs.

Michelin, GM Take the Air Out of Tires for Passenger Vehicles


Michelin and General Motors presented a new generation of airless wheel technology, the MICHELIN Uptis Prototype (or “Unique Puncture-proof Tire System”), at the Movin’On Summit for sustainable mobility today. GM intends to develop this airless wheel assembly with Michelin and aims to introduce it on passenger vehicles as early as 2024.

Chevrolet’s Industry-First Buckle to Drive Feature Reminds Teen Drivers to Buckle Up


Chevrolet Canada has introduced an industry-first Buckle to Drive feature that can help remind young drivers to buckle up before driving. Buckle to Drive is standard in the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, and when active can prevent the driver from shifting the vehicle out of park if the driver’s seat belt is not buckled. Buckle to Drive is only available through the vehicle’s Teen Driver mode and builds upon Chevrolet’s Teen Driver system, introduced in 2015, as another step to help teen drivers stay safe on the road.
