Meet co-op student and basketball fan Anand Bhundia. Anand is a Chassis Manufacturing Engineer at our Oshawa Assembly Plant.

1)  How long have you been at GM and what is your current role?

I have been a co-op student at the Oshawa Assembly Plant since September 2017 and I am currently working as a Chassis Manufacturing Engineer.

2)  What brought you to GM for your internship?

The desire to apply the skills I learned from university and my past co-op experiences brought me to GM. I wanted to further my skills and knowledge in a successful, reputable and innovative company.

3)  What is the best part about your job?

I love the culture at GM and the extra-curricular activities. GM has an amazing program called Jumpstart to encourage networking cross functionally. Once a month the committee plans a social event that you can participate in for free (or at a relatively low cost). I also enjoy playing basketball with my fellow GM coworkers after hours. I look forward to it every Tuesday!

4)   What’s your favourite GM vehicle?

My favourite GM vehicle would be the 1967 Corvette Stingray. Nothing beats a classic.

5)  If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

This is tough, I can’t choose as I want to travel around the world. There are too many beautiful places, cultures and food to pick from!

6)  What do you do on your free time?

In my free time I like to cook in the kitchen, stay active, and enjoy catching up on some of my favourite TV shows.

7)   What’s the last thing you watched on tv?

The last thing I watched on TV was an episode of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. When my roommates and I are relaxing/eating together, Fresh Prince is our go-to show.

8) What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you recently?

One day while playing drop-in basketball with my fellow GM coworkers, the “commissioner”, Eugenio, mentioned that he lived in Brampton and he asked where I was from. I stated with pride “born and raised in Brampton” and he laughed because that’s the first time he ever heard someone say it with pride. We thought it was pretty funny.
