Government of Canada Contracts GM Canada to Provide 10 Million Face Masks - Production to Begin Immediately


The Government of Canada today contracted General Motors of Canada to provide 10 million face masks over the next year with production to begin immediately.

GM Canada Update on Oshawa Mask Manufacturing


Since the federal government announced on April 24 that the GM Canada Oshawa plant will be the production site for millions of much needed face masks, the Company has built and prepared a clean room environment with enhanced safety protocols, delivered and installed the required machinery, and today started training for the start of production.

GM Canada Plans to Make Face Masks in Oshawa


To help Canada meet the urgent need for face masks for health care professionals and for other Canadians, GM Canada is preparing portions of the Oshawa plant to produce face masks based on the GM production model already working in Michigan.

Ventec Life Systems and GM Partner to Mass Produce Critical Care Ventilators in Response to COVID-19 Pandemic


GM manufacturing, purchasing and logistics are working with Ventec and our supply chain partners to get expanded ventilator production and Level 1 surgical face mask manufacturing off the ground and scalable as soon as possible. That is our current focus. COVID-19 is a global challenge, and General Motors intends wherever feasible to contribute to global solutions. We are in close touch with governments in Canada and will explore opportunities to work together to help more patients recover.
