Research - Cold Weather Development Centre

Location:

GM Cold Weather Development Centre
204 Government Road West
Kapuskasing, Ontario

Description:

Unique to GM of Canada is the GM Cold Weather Development Centre in Kapuskasing, Ontario, where current and future General Motors products undergo testing, reliability and performance studies in severe climatic conditions.

Kapuskasing is an ideal cold weather test site with a consistent low temperature profile, (typically over 2.5 meters of snow falls each year with temperatures falling below -30 degrees Centigrade). This small, hospitable, northern community is located 750 miles north of Detroit, and provides testing services to GM's North American and overseas operations.
