Interview with John Gray – Mayor of Oshawa/Car Enthusiast – August 5, 2009

For the locals around town in Oshawa, Ontario, it is hard to miss the new “Mayor-mobile” – a sporty, bright orange 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, proudly built by the men and women at the award-winning Oshawa Car Assembly Plant.

Mayor John Gray was so excited about the 2010 Camaro that he purposely held off trading in his Oshawa built Monte Carlo after the usual three year term, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new Camaro.

As Mayor Gray talks about his new car, his eyes beam and his genuine excitement and passion for cars is hard to miss. The mayor considers himself a car enthusiast and is extremely excited to be back into a car with a stick shift, an option not available on his previous car.

His new ride has been generating lots of excitement, the feedback so far has been nothing short of enthusiastic. In his own words, “Having the Camaro has generated lots of excitement, including “thumbs up” and comments starting with “awesome”.

Always a proud supporter of local businesses, including General Motors of Canada, the day he found out that the Oshawa Car Assembly Plant was selected to build the all-new Camaro, he could hardly wait to put in an order for this smoking hot sports car.
