Canyon Key Features

For 2009, Canyon is available in your choice of Regular Cab, Extended Cab and Crew Cab models. Base and uplevel trims are offered, and every Canyon model can be ordered with either rear-wheel drive (RWD) or Insta-Trac electronic 4-wheel drive (4x4). Every Canyon model includes the following features.

  • 185 hp Vortec 2.9L I-4 engine (standard on Regular Cab, Extended Cab and Crew Cab 2WD models); 239 hp Vortec 3.7L I-5 engine (standard on Crew Cab 4x4 models)
  • 5-speed manual transmission (standard with 2.9L 4-cylinder engine); 4-speed automatic transmission with Overdrive (included with Vortec 3.7L I-5 and Vortec 5.3L V8 engines)
  • StabiliTrak TM electronic stability control system
  • Front 60/40 split bench seat with deluxe cloth trim (standard on Regular and Extended Cabs); Front bucket seats with centre floor console (standard on Crew Cab)
  • Welded steel box with double-wall construction, 8 cargo tie-downs and locking 2-position tailgate
  • Solar-Ray tinted glass
  • Air conditioning
  • Tilt steering column

Canyon SLE with Preferred Equipment Group (PEG) 1SA Canyon SLE with PEG 1SA is available exclusively in Regular Cab and Extended Cab body styles with Z85 standard suspension. Along with the features listed above, Canyon SLE with PEG 1SA includes the following equipment.

  • 60/40 split bench seat with integral outboard head restraints and dual cupholders
  • Ebony floor carpeting with vinyl floor mats
