No Trade-Offs Required
You want a highly capable full-size SUV that can seat a crowd and haul a trailer without breaking a sweat. Yet you also need a vehicle that is fuel efficient – not just powerful. Chevrolet Tahoe lets you have it both ways. Its capabilities are legendary, with a trailering capacity of up to 3810 kg (8400 lb.). Its power is formidable, with a standard 320 hp Vortec 5.3L V8 engine. But Tahoe's V8 engines also feature Active Fuel Management
® that helped it earn best-in-class V8 fuel consumption honours, with 9.8L/100 km highway and 15.0L/100 km city ratings.** And for 2009, fuel efficiency is further enhanced by the new six-speed automatic transmission that includes two overdrive gears. So don't trade off capability for fuel efficiency. Get it all in the 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Two Modes Are Better Than One
The advantage of the 2-mode hybrid system is that it automatically selects the most efficient blend of power, based on demand, combining the 332 horsepower Vortec 6.0L V8 gasoline engine with electric power. Unlike many other hybrid systems, GM's system uses torque-based inputs to continuously determine the optimal propulsion configuration. No wonder it won the 2009 Best New Green Technology award from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC).
Active Also Refers To The Engine
Your active lifestyle places substantial hauling demands on your vehicle. Tahoe answers, not only with enormous power and trailering capacity, but also with a standard 5.3L V8 engine that is enormously fuel efficient. That's thanks to Active Fuel Management that shuts down four of eight cylinders when power demands are low.
Safety Isn't Just A High Priority – It's The Highest
A reflection of Tahoe's commitment to safety can be seen in the fact that it earned the highest possible U.S. government frontal and side crash test ratings – five stars.
† And it isn't only the occupant protection that's advanced. The newly available side blind zone alert uses radar technology to detect a vehicle entering a blind spot.
You Are Connected
Tahoe keeps you connected with an array of entertainment and communications technology on board. For 2009, all models include Bluetooth
® wireless connectivity technology that allows Bluetooth-enabled cell phones to utilize vehicle’s audio system, microphone, voice recognition and steering wheel controls for hands-free cell phone calling, plus XM Satellite Radio™
††. And if you choose the available DVD navigation system, you also receive XM Nav Traffic
