Powertrain Plan

Your car, truck or van is a significant investment. You'll want to protect it for as long as you drive it. With Powertrain Plan you can protect your vehicle - and your budget - and likely enhance its resale value.

Powertrain Plan, endorsed by General Motors, covers you against unexpected and costly expenses for covered vehicle repairs. This vehicle service contract covers parts and labour expenses for three major vehicle assemblies in the event of mechanical failure beyond the warranty period - even if it results from Normal Wear.

With Powertrain Plan, there are no unexpected financial surprises for covered parts and labour expenses. If repairs are necessary, they can be taken care of conveniently through the largest repair network in North America.

Component Coverage

Specific components within three major assemblies of your vehicle are covered against mechanical failure even if it results from Normal Wear.

That includes parts and labour on:

Engine Gasoline/Diesel
Cylinder block, heads, all internally lubricated parts; manifolds; timing gears, timing chain/belt, timing cover; flywheel; oil pump/oil pump housing; water pump; fuel pump; fuel level sensor; harmonic balancer; OHC carriers; valve covers; oil pan; engine mount; seals and gaskets. Also covered are turbocharger/supercharger housings, internal parts, valves, intercooler, seals and gaskets, diesel fuel pump, lines, nozzles and vacuum pump.

Transmission/Transaxle
Case, all internal parts; torque converter; transfer case; vacuum modulator; transmission mounts; seals and gaskets.

Front/Rear Wheel Drive Assembly
Final drive housing, all internal parts; axle shafts and axle shaft bearings; constant velocity joints; axle housing, all internal parts; propeller shafts; universal joints; wheel bearings; locking hubs; front differential actuator; supports; front hub bearings and rear axle hub bearings; seals and gaskets.

Towing and Road Service Allowance

If a covered system fails, Powertrain Plan will provide authorization or reimbursement for towing.

Alternative Transportation

If your vehicle is repaired under Powertrain Plan, you're covered for alternative transportation. Powertrain Plan will pay the cost to rent a replacement vehicle or for public transportation (some limits apply) whenever:

• Two or more manufacturer's labour time guide hours are required for the repair, or
• Your vehicle is not drivable and must be kept overnight

Terms for your Needs

Choose the Powertrain Plan term best for your situation. Coverage is offered based on years of anticipated ownership and annual kilometres driven. A $100 Deductible means you can limit unanticipated out-of-pocket expenses.

Powertrain Plan can be purchased at any time during the complete base warranty period; however, the earlier you buy, the better the value. You can even make Powertrain Plan part of your monthly payment.

Repair paperwork is gone too, because everything is taken care of by your GM dealer.

You may also enhance your vehicle's value because if you sell your vehicle, Powertrain Plan can be transferred to the new owner at no charge.
