Your choices:
There are many different types of replacement brake components out in the marketplace. In fact, there are no mandatory standards for replacement brake parts. So, what do you need to know to make your decision?
Quality brake parts will perform better and provide greater customer satisfaction.
You get what you pay for and with brake replacement parts, this couldn’t be more accurate. The best replacement parts money can buy are original equipment (OE) parts.
- OE parts are designed specifically for each vehicle AND meet all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
- All OE replacement components carry a 12 month/ unlimited km warranty.
- OE parts contain metallurgy specifically engineered for your specific vehicle.
- OE parts tend to be the most expensive option.
If you don’t want to pay a premium for Original Equipment brakes, then look for the D3EA® certification stamp on your replacement brake components.
D3EA® certification establishes brake component output performance consistent with Motor Vehicle Safety Standards braking requirements for new vehicles.
D3EA® measures both the front and rear braking system specific friction performance of brake shoes, pads, drums and rotors.
Product that achieve D3EA® certification and carry the D3EA® seal must be tested and re-qualified every two years.
