Government and Utilities

The 2010 Government and Utilities Competitive Assistance (or Allowance) Program is designed to address the competitive tender process commonly used by governments and regulated utilities to award business.

Availability:
This program is available to:

  • City, municipal, county, regional and provincial authorities
  • Federal Agencies
  • Wholly tax-supported organizations (that purchase or lease vehicles under a competitive bidding process and pay in total with funds supplied by that political subdivision)
  • Government regulated public utilities or railroads

Note: Crown corporations that compete in the private sector would be required to meet a minimum purchase requirement to be eligible.

Amounts:
Competitive Assistance allowance amounts are generally based on volume, product availability, market conditions and the competitive need at the time of application. Amounts may vary depending on the car or truck line under consideration. See your GM Canada Dealer for details.

In-Service Requirements:
All eligible vehicles delivered under this program must be licensed, titled and retained for use in Canada by the first eligible Fleet customer for a minimum of six (6) months and 12,000 kilometres in service by the first eligible Fleet customer who takes delivery of the vehicle.

Competitive Assistance may, at GM Canada's sole discretion, be made available on past model year vehicles on an exception basis.

To initiate a request for CA, Fleet customers must contact a GM Canada Dealer , a GM Canada Fleet Account Manager or Commercial Truck Sales Manager, the National Accounts Manager for Government and Utilities Fleet Sales or inquire through an independent leasing company. All applications will be processed through our Fleet Financial Services Group.
