Total 'Plus' is the most comprehensive vehicle service contract offered by General Motors. This premium contract covers your vehicle in the event of mechanical failure beyond the Manufacturer's Base Warranty period - even if it results from normal wear.

With Total 'Plus', virtually every component of your vehicle is covered in the event of mechanical failure beyond the Warranty period - even if caused by normal wear.

Total 'Plus' protects you against unexpected financial expenses by covering parts and labour costs. If repairs are necessary, they can be taken care of conveniently through our large repair network across North America.

Component Coverage
It's this simple – if a component is not listed below, then it's covered.

Parts not covered
All glass (with the exception of heated windshield, mirror or rear window that require replacement due to an electrical failure that cannot be repaired), fog lamps, lenses, sealed beams, lamps, light bulbs, tires, wheels, trim, seat frames, convertible or vinyl top, moldings, weather-strips, bright metal, sheet metal, door hinges, body parts (including frame), bumpers, upholstery, carpet, paint, brake rotors and drums, shock absorbers, MacPherson strut assemblies (including upper mount and bearing), batteries, distributor cap and rotor, carburetor, manual clutch disc lining, pressure plate and bushings, pipes (with the exception of power steering, air conditioning and brake pipes), engine and transmission cooler lines/hoses, catalytic converter (which may be covered by Emission Control Systems Warranties) and exhaust system, and non-manufacturer installed accessories.

In addition, maintenance services and parts, corrections of air and water leaks, wind noise, squeaks and rattles as well as alignment of bumpers, sheet metal, body parts and glass are not covered.

Roadside Assistance
Total 'Plus' provides 24-hour-a-day roadside assistance in Canada and the United States by calling our toll-free number 1-800-268-6800 for:

  • Flat tire change
  • Towing
  • Battery jump
  • Locksmith / Key service
  • Out-of-gas fuel delivery

Alternate Transportation
Total 'Plus' will pay the cost to rent a replacement vehicle or for public transportation (some limits apply) when:

  • Two or more manufacturer's labour time guide hours are required for the repair, or
  • Your vehicle is not drivable and must be kept overnight.

Terms for your Needs
Choose the Total 'Plus' term best suited to your needs. Coverage is offered based on years of anticipated ownership and annual kilometres driven. Deductible choices are $0, $100 and $200, meaning you can limit or virtually eliminate unanticipated out-of-pocket expenses.

Total 'Plus' can be purchased at any time during the Manufacturer’s Base Warranty period. You can even make Total 'Plus' part of your monthly payment.

Having repairs done to your vehicle is easy too with all the claim paperwork taken care of by your GM dealer.

You may also enhance your vehicle's value because if you sell your vehicle, Total 'Plus' can be transferred to the new owner at no charge.

Custom Plan

Custom Plan

Protect your vehicle and your budget with a Custom Plan. This broad-coverage service contract covers parts and labour expenses for nine major assemblies in the event of mechanical failure beyond the Manufacturer's Base Warranty period - even if caused by ordinary normal wear.

With the Custom Plan, there are no unexpected financial surprises for covered parts and labour expenses. If repairs are necessary, they can be taken care of conveniently through our large repair network across North America.

Component Coverage
Specific components within nine major assemblies of your vehicle are covered against mechanical failure even if it results from normal wear.

That includes parts and labour on:

Engine Gasoline/Diesel
Cylinder block, heads, all internally lubricated parts; manifolds; timing gears, timing chain/belt, timing cover; flywheel; oil pump/oil pump housing; water pump; fuel pump; fuel level sensor; harmonic balancer; OHC carriers; valve covers; oil pan; engine mount; seals and gaskets. Also covered are turbocharger/supercharger housings, internal parts, valves, intercooler, seals and gaskets, diesel fuel pump, lines, nozzles and vacuum pump.

Transmission/Transaxle
Case, all internal parts; torque converter; transfer case; vacuum modulator; transmission mounts; seals and gaskets.

Front/Rear Wheel Drive Assembly
Final drive housing, all internal parts; axle shafts and axle shaft bearings; constant velocity joints; axle housing, all internal parts; propeller shafts; universal joints; wheel bearings; locking hubs; front differential actuator; supports; front hub bearings and rear axle hub bearings; seals and gaskets.

Cooling and Fuel
Radiator, fan and clutch; cooling fan motor; fuel tank; fuel lines and fuel tank selector valve.

Steering
Gear housing and all internal parts; hydraulic/electric power steering pump; steering main and intermediate shafts, couplings; idler arm; pitman arm; power steering hoses; seals and gaskets.

Front Suspension
Upper and lower control arms; control arm shafts and bushings; upper and lower ball joints; king pins; steering knuckles; stabilizer shaft and stabilizer bushings.

Brakes
Master cylinder; assist boosters; wheel cylinders; combination valve; hydraulic lines and fittings; disc calipers; modulator valve/dump valve; pump motor assembly and accumulator; ABS Hydraulic Modulator, ABS module, sensors, relays, switches and solenoids; seals and gaskets.

Electrical
Starter motor and solenoid; alternator; distributor; wiring harnesses; instrument panel printed circuit boards; electronic instrument cluster; wiper motors; washer pump; manually operated electrical switches; electronic control module; body computer/control module; powertrain control module and ignition module.

Heater and Factory Installed Air Conditioner
Compressor; clutch and pulley; condenser; evaporator; accumulator; high/low pressure compressor cut-off switch; pressure cycling switch; heater core; blower motor; air conditioning hoses and seals.

Towing and Road Service Allowance
If a covered system fails, Custom Plan will provide authorization or reimbursement for towing. Towing will not be provided for unattended vehicles.

Alternate Transportation
If your vehicle is repaired under the Custom Plan, you're covered for alternate transportation. The Custom Plan will pay the cost to rent a replacement vehicle or for public transportation (some limits apply) whenever:

Component Coverage

Tire Protection Plan

Tire Protection Plan

The GM Tire Protection Plan (GMTPP) is the only tire road hazard product backed by General Motors. This great product protects you against costly repairs or even replacements of your tires due to unforeseen road hazard damages.

Because Tire road hazard failures are costly and inconvenient, GMTPP ensures both are minimal.

Plan Coverage
GMTPP will cover the damages to your tires due to road hazard conditions (nails, pot holes, etc.) that result in the tire no longer being able to hold air or be safely operated.

  • Coverage up to $40 for each tire repair*
  • Coverage up to $399 for each tire replacement*
  • GMTPP will cover eligible tires on your vehicle throughout the term selected.
  • GMTPP will also provide up to $75 reimbursement for road side service and towing.*
  • There is a claim limit of $2,000 per term*

Eligibility
All new and used vehicle customers are eligible to purchase purchase GMTPP from the nearest GM dealer (excluding residents of BC and Quebec) provided the tires on the vehicle at time of purchase have a minimum of 4/32” of tread remaining and are recommended by the manufacturer.

For customers residing in B.C., the purchase of GMTPP without the purchase of a New or Used vehicle must be done in conjunction with the sale of at least one new tire.
