Stephen K. Carlisle
Stephen (Steve) K. Carlisle

Stephen K. Carlisle was appointed President and Managing Director of GM Canada on November 20, 2014.

Born and raised in Woodstock, Ontario, Carlisle began his GM career in 1982 as an industrial engineering co-op student at the Oshawa Truck Assembly Plant. Over the course of his career with General Motors, Carlisle has held a number of senior leadership positions that have taken him across the globe, including Vice President of Global Product Planning and Program Management, 2010-2014; Vice President of U.S. Sales Operations, 2010; and President and Managing Director of Southeast Asia Operations, 2007-2010.

Carlisle is an active business leader, currently serving on the Ontario Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity; the Dean’s Advisory Council, University of Waterloo Faculty of Engineering; the Chair of the Advanced Technology Committee of Canadian Automotive Partnership Council and former Chair of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association (2014 to 2016).

Carlisle also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master in Business Administration from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Despite many years abroad, Carlisle remains an avid hockey enthusiast, and has enjoyed returning to the GM Canada Salaried Hockey League.

John P. Roth
John P. Roth

Vice President, Sales, Service and Marketing,

General Motors of Canada Company

John P. Roth holds a Bachelor's degree from Albion College, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas.

John began his career with General Motors in 1991, serving in a number of field sales and marketing capacities until June of 2003. At this point, he transitioned to a senior staff role with Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing, supporting multiple GM Vice Presidents. He remained in this role until September of 2005 when he was promoted to the Chevrolet advertising position where he launched the all new Silverado, Avalanche and the FlexFuel campaign. In February 2007, he was promoted to Director of Sales for HUMMER and in 2008 he became Director of Sales Operations for Cadillac, HUMMER and Saab in Detroit, Michigan. In April 2011, John was appointed to the position of Cadillac Regional Director and was responsible for leading the South Central Cadillac field organization and dealers.

John was appointed to his current position of Vice President, Sales, Service & Marketing effective August 1, 2013, and at the same time appointed to the Board of Directors at General Motors of Canada.

Peter S.H. Cho
Peter S.H. Cho

Vice President and General Counsel,

General Motors of Canada Company

Peter S.H. Cho is Vice President and General Counsel for General Motors of Canada Company, effective March 30, 2015. He is also a member of the GM Canada Board of Directors.

Most recently, Peter was the General Counsel, Corporate Secretary & Head of Government Relations as well as Chief Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer at Volkswagen Group Canada, including Audi Canada and Bentley Motors Canada. Peter has also been General Counsel for Kia Canada. An active participant in the auto industry, Peter served as a Board Member of the Global Automakers of Canada and Chair of its Legal Committee.

Peter’s international experience includes an assignment as Senior Director, Head of Regional Business Management Office for Volkswagen Group China. There, he led cross-functional teams executing strategic operations in Greater China and ASEAN related to manufacturing, sales and marketing as well as crisis management of multi-jurisdictional recalls.

Peter began his career at two well-respected Canadian law firms, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP and Macleod Dixon LLP (now part of Norton Rose Fulbright) where he focused on international trade and competition law in Toronto and Moscow.

Peter received an LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, University of Western Ontario and a B.A. in Economics and East Asian Studies from Trinity College, University of Toronto.

Amy Martin
Amy Martin

Vice President Finance & Chief Financial Officer,

General Motors of Canada Company

Amy was appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of General Motors of Canada Company on July 1, 2017 and has overall responsibility for the finance, treasury, tax and accounting activities.

Amy started her career at Arthur Andersen in Detroit, Michigan, and joined the General Motors Tax Staff in 1997. She has held several leadership positions of increasing responsibility within the Global Customs organization, including Regional Director - South American customs based in São Paulo, Brazil and prior to joining General Motors of Canada, she was the General Director of the Global Customs organization.

During her GM career, Amy has received a GM Chairman's honors award, GM Korea President's award, CIO award, and Public Policy Star award. She is on the leadership team of GM's Women in Finance organization, and received a GM WOMEN recognition award for commitment to integrity, leadership and the empowerment of women at GM. Amy was an inaugural member of GM's Finance Priorities Initiative Talent team, and is passionate about talent management and development, and employee engagement in the workplace.

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Amy received her Bachelor of Science with a double major in Accounting and Finance from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and received her CPA designation from the State of Michigan in 1997.
