Steps to Joining Our Team

Search & Apply

You can review our current opportunities on our careers site. Found a position that suits you? Great, just complete and submit your application online to get things rolling.

Resume Review

Our recruiters review applications from the careers site and phone the top talent. If that ends up being you, we'll have you take an online Culture and Problem Solving assessment to measure your fit for our team.

Interviews & Selection

We'll have you come in for one or more in-person behavioural interviews with the team. If successful, next comes our offer, a background check and a new career with GM Canada! The entire process generally takes 6-8 weeks.

I applied to a role. How do I know if I am still under consideration?

Our Recruitment Team strives to get back to as many candidates as possible. However, we only reach out to those who have been selected for an initial telephone interview. If you were not selected for an interview, you will receive an email notification once the role has been filled.

How long does the interview/hiring process take?

Our interview and hiring process typically takes between 6 - 8 weeks from the time of posting to a potential offer. This time may vary between postings, but it's the average.

Does GM offer relocation assistance?

GM does offer relocation assistance, if required. Assistance is on a case-by-case basis determined by the situation.

Do you hire co-ops and interns?

Yes. We hire a number of Co-ops and Interns throughout the year in a variety of business units such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing and Human Resources. Students typically start their co-op terms with us in January, May and September. All our open Co-op and Intern roles can be found on our Job Listings page.
